Painting and Drawing in Autumn – five-week course, Thurs from 5 Sept: 12.15pm to 4pm
Celebrate the changing autumn hues of Wandlebury’s flora on this five-week drawing and painting course with treescape artist Debbie Baxter. Improve and grow creativity by connecting with their surrounding natural environment, no matter what your skill level is. Five consecutive Thursdays beginning 5 September. £170 per person. Coton Countryside Walk: Great St Mary’s–The Backs–West Fields–Coton Reserve
Saturday 7 September: 10am to 3pm
Sociable and flat walk from Great St Mary’s Church in Cambridge city centre via the West Fields, past the striking architecture of the University’s West Cambridge site, into the Coton Countryside Reserve, returning via the University’s Sidgwick site in Newnham to the city centre. Free event but donations appreciated. The walk is around 6.5 miles long. Meeting point is in front of Great St Mary’s Church, CB2 3PQ.

Stourbridge Medieval Fair at the Leper Chapel Saturday 7 September: 12pm to 4.30pm
Step back in time for a merry medieval afternoon at the historic Leper Chapel, one of Cambridge’s oldest complete surviving building. Dating back to 1199, the Stourbridge Fair was once the largest medieval fair in Europe. Arrive at noon to witness the traditional way of opening the fair. Great opportunity to see inside the chapel. Bourn Windmill Open Day and Teas Sunday 15 September: 2pm to 4pm

‘This glorious human relationship with trees’ – a talk by Debbie Baxter

The Tempest – Tuesday 10th September, 7pm
The world’s first cycling theatre company, The HandleBards, pedal from venue to venue with all the set, props and costume necessary to perform environmentally sustainable Shakespeare across the globe. Join their all-female troupe at Rhodes Arts Complex for a bicycle-powered production of Shakespeare’s ’The Tempest’ like none other. In usual HandleBards style, expect riotous amounts of energy, a fair old whack of chaos, and a great deal of laughter. And what’s the play about? Well - a shipwreck washes the court of Milan up onto a mysterious desert island, inhabited by magicians, sprites and monsters, where nothing is as it seems. There’s magic, musicality and mystery a plenty!

Sid’s Time to Play – Saturday 21st September, 11.30am and 1.30pm
Sid’s Time To Play is the must see, or rather must ‘do’ jam-packed 45 minute live games show for little ones and their fun-loving parents featuring Sid from the hit CBeebies television show 'Let’s Play'. This enthralling show is packed full of fun games and interactions, like ‘Copy Sid’ a groovy ‘Simon says style song, bursting with energy. 'Challenge Sid' is a friendly quiz with not so friendly (but fun) forfeits, 'Wacky Races’ is a crazy race which involves pitting the audience against each other using a beachball to decide who wins. There’s ‘Dress to Impress’ a dress-off between two participants, where speed and balloon popping skills are a huge advantage. It’s all carefully managed by your host to keep everyone involved in the right way. Peace at Last – Monday 28th October, 2pm
Mr Bear can’t sleep. Mrs Bear is snoring. So he goes to sleep in Baby Bear’s room. But Baby Bear is pretending to be an aeroplane. So he goes to sleep in the living room… Olivier award-winning OperaUpClose team up with Gallions Primary School in Newham to create a new opera for 3-5-year-olds, based on Jill Murphy's much-loved picture book, Peace At Last which has been delighting families for generations. Performed in a new composition for three singers, accompanied by harp and woodwind.

Michael Morpurgo’s – I Believe in Unicorns – Tuesday 29th October, 2pm
Olivier Award nominated 'Wizard Presents' brings best-selling children’s author Michael Morpurgo’s treasured story to life. This intimate show is set in a library full of books that hold more than stories within their pages. I Believe in Unicorns sparks imagination in both young and old. We challenge you not to believe in unicorns after joining Tomas’ spellbinding journey. Suitable for families with children aged 6+ and anyone who loves stories and books. The performance also includes a 'book swap’, for which audience members are invited to bring along a favourite children's book (for ages 6 and upwards) to help form part of the stage set at the beginning of the show. At the end the children are invited to swap their book for another one and so have a new story 'from the library' to take home with them.

Olivier award-winning OperaUpClose team up with Gallions Primary School in Newham to create a new opera for 3-5-year-olds, based on Jill Murphy's much-loved picture book, Peace At Last which has been delighting families for generations. Performed in a new composition for three singers, accompanied by harp and woodwind.

This intimate show is set in a library full of books that hold more than stories within their pages. I Believe in Unicorns sparks imagination in both young and old. We challenge you not to believe in unicorns after joining Tomas’ spellbinding journey.

Suitable for families with children aged 6+ and anyone who loves stories and books

The performance also includes a 'book swap’, for which audience members are invited to bring along a favourite children's book (for ages 6 and upwards) to help form part of the stage set at the beginning of the show. At the end the children are invited to swap their book for another one and so have a new story 'from the library' to take home with them.

Music throughout the Years Quiz

Location: United Reformed Church Hall, Abbey Lane, Saffron Walden; 7pm doors open for food, 7:30pm quiz to start.

The evening will consist of a nostalgic music quiz hosted by Ronnie Booth as well as a raffle at the end. Come along and appreciate music history whilst raising money for Support 4 Sight! Quiz teams of 8 required, but individuals and smaller teams are encouraged to come along, make friends on the night and join forces with other small teams. Tickets are £12.50 and include fish and chips or vegetarian burger and chips. Tickets will need to be booked in advance, please contact amanda@support4sight.org.uk or call 01799 588 897 to book.
